Commissioned to explore spatial and programmatic possibilities for a new cafe in Bushwick,New York, the design utilizes three items essential to the working philosophies of the cafe's owners .
Utilizing a series of three dimensional steel frames the customers experiences a series of empty and populated matrixes; each one facilitating the possibilities of a cat perch, coffee display, or plant shelf. The modular nature of the frame allows for increased or decreased density of any one program element. More Cats = more perches. In the rear the bar and roasting equipment open up on a light filled space, with new skylights, left bare to focus on the cafe's main product, the coffee.
